Richmond County authorities are looking for several suspects for questioning in last summer’s brutal beating death of a local father outside Dollar General.
Randall Johnson, Jermaine Ramsey and Freddie Smith are still sought by investigators in connection with the June death of 28-year-old Elias Delk. Two other men, Dennis Stephens and Freddie Roper, were both interviewed and released, authorities said.
The victim’s body was found in the early morning hours of June 15 outside the Dollar General on Martin Luther King Jr., authorities said. Delk had been beaten by a group of people with their fists, feet and a stick, leaving him with hematomas to the scalp, broken ribs and a punctured left lung, a warrant says.
Several witnesses say the incident actually started at a nearby bar, where Delk and the suspects had gotten into an argument. It led to the beating outside and the victim ended up collapsing in the parking lot of the Dollar General.
The injuries caused his death, authorities said. He was identified online as the loving father of a 5-year-old boy.
Last year, authorities announced two arrests in the case, including 37-year-old Creston Curry and 36-year-old Tamiko Shynese Bolton. Both were charged with murder, while Curry was also charged with armed robbery.
Curry is a convicted felon with a long list of arrests and convictions, including drug dealing, leaving the scene of an accident, burglary, domestic violence, violation of a family violence order, weapon possession, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and multiple obstruction cases. He has served three stints in prison with his latest release in March 2022.
If you have any information about the three men’s whereabouts or encounter them, please contact Investigator Sean Morrow, or an on-call investigator at the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 432-5281 or (706) 821-1020.
